"Cannot Recommend At All" 2009-12-08

I bought this set (in red) in September 2009 mainly because it is listed as "Cookware is dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning" and it had all the pieces I needed.

Well, here it is December 2009- yes, only 3 months later- and I'm already looking for a replacement for this poorly made cookware. First of all, the booklet that comes with it says it is NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. Well, I'm not about to wash my cookware by hand so I still put it in the dishwasher- on the regular cycle, not the harsher Pots and Pans cycle.

The cookware is very lightweight and the bottoms aren't very flat. The result is that they heat slowly and unevenly and easily spin around on my ceramic cooktop.

But even all those reasons aren't quite enough for me to replace them so soon. No, they've got to go because the non-stick coating is already pitting and coming off. UGH! Keep in mind that I only use plastic or wooden utensils with them and, as I said, I do not use the harsher dishwasher cycles so there's no excuse for this poor quality. My old T-Fal set lasted like 11 years before the non-stick coating was worn away enough to retire them and it didn't flake off, it just wore away over that decade or so.

So, I absolutely cannot recommend this set and will not consider Cuisinart cookware in the future. In fact, I won't consider any cookware that I can't inspect in-person before buying.

We have only used these pots and pans a couple of times so far and really like them. The color is really nice, the clear glass tops are very useful and the rims don't collect water like other pan lids can. In addition it is dishwasher safe! No complaints!

I loved the color! The various items were good although a little lighter weight than I thought they'd be. I loved the nonstick surface. The problem was that the concentric circles on the bottom were rough and scratched my glass cooktop. Because the pots weren't flat, they didn't heat up as fast as the ads said they would. If I had a gas stove with grates, they would have been fine. As it was, I wasn't willing to buy a new stove so the set had to be returned.(

My Mother bought this set of pots for me and there were a couple of dissapointments. First off, I was upset that the set didn't come with a medium size pot- a 3.5 or 4 qt. it only came with the 1 and the 2 qt which are very simular in size and I felt that the size was missing. Second, I am very particular about the cleanliness of the pots and I found the little lip/bubble around the lid was annoying to clean. After cooking a soup on the stove for about 6 hours, the steam really cakes up inside of there, and no matter how many times I passed my sponge through the groove, it kept coming out dirty. Also, I originally bought the circulon 2's but returned them for the elite's because I wanted the clear cover and now I regret it. The clear covers are nice because you could see inside, but food particles (especially after cooking a long time) gets stuck between the glass and the metal and I always have to take out a toothpick and wipe that out. Macy's was very apologetic and let me return this set, which I replaced with the circulon infinates. I haven't used them yet, but am hoping that these two problems will be solved with my new set (it came with a free bonus of a 4 qt. pot). They seem a bit heavy, because of the additional steel plate on the bottom, but it helps with the cooking, and I think all the pots (including the elites) are heavy anyway!! Also, I'm not so thrilled that the handles don't have any silicone covering, which makes it hot when cooking- but if you cook properly, and keep it on a medium flame, the side handles are ok to handle (but the lid handle you need some sort of protection). They did this because it is oven safe, unlike the others. But the biggest plus about the infinate is it is dishwasher safe- which has fantastic reviews, so hopefully that will hold up!! Hope this helps!!!

I researched and searched for a new cookware set to replace an old T-Fal set that the teflon was coming off of. I finally settled on the circulon elite set and couldn't be more happy! It was a bit difficult to get use to not turning up the heat beyond medium, but beyond that the set cooks like a dream and cleans up even better. I hate hand-washing cookware, but in this case, it's a small price to pay to keep this set in good working order for many years to come. I highly recommend!

As a former Calphalon owner, I couldn't be more happy with this new Circulon cookware set. By comparison, my new Circulon outweighs, outperforms, and is just a higher quality set of cookware. And this set on Amazon was $140+ cheaper than the Calphalon, which I bought on sale in a dept store! I can tell immediately that the non-stick interior is tougher, and it is very easy to clean. The Calphalon non-stick coating was flaking away (and into my food!) after just a couple of years -- and no, I NEVER put it in the dishwasher; I only washed it by hand. I will continue with this Circulon -- in fact I just ordered the 3 qt saucepan to round out the set. If you decide on the Circulon, you won't be sorry. (One caveat, the covered 12" covered pan doesn't have the extra loop handle as shown in the picture. But I had a similar pan in my old set, and didn't find a need for the extra handle anyway.)

I've been using Calphalon cookware for about 20 years. Some of my pieces are pretty worn out and frankly, I was getting a bit tired of always having to wash them by hand.

I have Professional Nonstick, Commercial Nonstick, Copper Triply, Stainless Triply, One, etc. etc. etc. Overall my pots and pans have served me very well and have taken an enormous amount of abuse. I lived in Mexico for several years and they came with me then and back again. I used to cook for 10-12 people every day, so they got a lot of use.

I hadn't been too tempted to retire my old workhorses, especially since the newer Calphalon lines were far from great. I HATED the new 'commercial' nonstick that I bought a few months ago. The pans were lighter and flimsy.

I saw the ads for Unison and was intrigued. Not so thrilled with the prices, but Amazon's great for comparison shopping.

I got this little set on Kitchen Kapers for [...], a bargain indeed. And 100% dishwasher-safe? YES!!!

So....Sear and Slide, huh? One of the biggest drawbacks to nonstick cookware is the lack of 'stickiness' necessary to achieve a truly great sear on meats and other foods. Does this new Sear stuff work? Last night I made my favorite pot roast recipe in this cute little 5 quart Dutch Oven. It's just big enough to make a braise for 2-4, a 3 pound chuck roast fit in it just right.

Did it sear better than my other pots? Marginally. It did sear just fine, but so do my other dutch ovens. I refuse to put out a couple hundred dollars for LC and then have to hire someone to lift the thing off the stove for me. Does it create the classic 'fond' so loved by foodies? Nope. But then I've never really needed one to make fabulous food, either. It's a tossup.

This little oven worked just great on top of the stove and in the oven. The only drawback to the entire line that I can see so far is that the lids do not fit well at all, they slide around too easily, allowing steam to escape and cause a burn hazard, as well as the potential to burn a pot dry. I double sealed the lid with parchment when I used it, but still feel that my braise came out drier than usual.

I also have the 'covered omelet' (strange configuration) and its lid is just as loose. A bit disappointing, but overall, taking into consideration the new 'rougher' nonstick surface and the ability to wash it in the dishwasher, this line deserves a solid 4 1/2 stars, as long as you can get them for [...] or less.

"whoops bad purchase" 2010-01-22

In general cheap and flimsy. I expected that for the price, but figured it would be OK as I don't use pots heavily. I cooked one hamburger in the frying pan and was unable to clean it. This is after soaking it for hours and then using a gentle scotchbrite on it. In the end I could not tell if it was stuff sticking to the "non -stick" surface or the surface itself bubbling off. Note that the pan was used ONCE and on MEDUIM heat and handled exactly the same way I do other frying pans - let cool, soak, sponge, scotchbrite if required. Avoid this product. Cheap but not cheap enough for single use pans.

On the upside, the flimsy handle was easy to bend over to make the pan easier to dispose of.

I really like this product. Here's a quick list of the pros and cons I've noticed.

Pros. They are very nicely manufactured. I like the sturdy feeling of the handles and pans. Nothing feels like it is going to break off. Some of my other brand pans do feel that way. They are extremely easy to clean and heat up very fast. They cook quick and evenly. Also, I love the color.

Cons. In the last 7 months of owning these pans, I have noticed the paint on the bottom of the pans coming off. This could just be from heavy use. Some of the non-stick surface has also been damaged. Again, could be due to heavy use. We don't use any metal cookware with them, so I'm not totally sure.

Either way, I really love them. The cons are minor and I think they are worth buying.

"Good for a starter set??" 2010-03-21

We bought this set for our 20 year old daughters first apartment. It arrived with a cracked handle on one pan, and a lid with a bent rim on another. Amazon promptly shipped her another set. I hope this lasts a little longer than I think it will, but it seems cheaply made and wouldn't be a great deal who cooks extensively.

I purchased a set of this cookware 3 years ago. I use it daily.In my opinion they are a great buy for your money. The set still looks brand new. I purchased this set for my daughter, I doubt that I will ever need to purchase new pots and pans again.Amazon.com is a great site to make purchases, the product I ordered was received earlier than I expected.

Circulon 2 Cookware is still the best of the Circulon series, especially for men. The thicker grips are easier to handle. The lids are solid steel so there is no shatter concern if one is dropped. Knobs on lids are easy to handle and will not break. Same awesome cooking as the other Circulon products.

Packaging for shipment was excellent, no damage.

I first stumbled on Circulon in a close out set of three baking sheets. We gave one to our daughter and one to our daughter-in-law. Everyone raved about them. I suggested to our son that he could get a set for daughter-in-law. Ended up buying three of the 12 pc sets. We absolutely love it all. We had very good quality stainless and some other non-stick items. They are now in storage.

The 12" pan in this set is huge but works well on a decent size burner (we have glass top stove). I will probably buy the three skillet pack to get the 12" skillet as the 10" is a bit small for some dishes.

While it should not go in dishwasher it is so easy to clean in the sink I mentioned to wife the other day that it is almost a pleasure to hand wash it. Life is too short to use poor cookware to paraphrase an old line.

Wonderful! I just got this set for Christmas and started using it early. Even heating - CHECK! Good sizes for pans and lids - CHECK! Easy to clean - CHECK! Non-stick - CHECK! I love it. Heats very evenly, even the big pans that are bigger than the burner they are on (the one fryer pan is HUGE, but wonderful!). As for those that complain about having to hand wash them......I just soak them for 5 minutes in warm, soapy water while I load the rest of the dishes in the dishwasher, and then clean with a dishrag. The rivits for the handles are NOT flat and they can gather food debris, but one extra pass with the dishrag takes care of it....I have not even had to break out a scrub brush of any kind. These are well-made, heavy and the non-stick is the best I have used. Someone (not sure if it was on here or another site with reviews) wished the lids were glass and therefor see-through, but I have had sets with glass lids and condensation accumulates on them and you really can't see the contents of the pan anyway. This set is worth the money. I can't speak to how long it lasts because I have only had them for 2 weeks, but they still don't even look like I've even used them. I can just tell the quality of this set, and predict they will last for a long time.

This product does what it says it will do. The only down side is to wash by hand but it is so easy it really is a snap.
